There are Many ways you can help!

The Friends of West Salem Watersheds (FOWSW), is the 501(c)3 that was established to collect and hold funds for the Glenn and Gibson Creeks Watershed Council. The Friends of West Salem Watersheds is all volunteer and takes no percentage of donated funds. 100% of your donations to the Glenn and Gibson Creeks Watershed Council go toward on the ground habitat improvement or to environmental education.

  • Engaging people of all ages to volunteer

SALEM ELECTRIC HABITAT IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM

 

Salem Electric offers members the option of participating in the Habitat Improvement Program (HIP) to help improve local native fish and wildlife habitat. HIP allows members to make automatic monthly contributions through their Salem Electric bill, or one-time donations (pledges can be canceled at any time). Contributions are forwarded to the Mid Willamette Watershed Alliance, a 501c3 organization.   SALEM ELECTRIC'S CONTRIBUTION FORM

Donations collected in Polk County are assigned to habitat improvements in the Glenn-Gibson Creek Watershed and donations from Marion County fund Claggett Creek projects.

DONATE THROUGH YOUR REFUNDABLE BOTTLES & CANS

 

We're now part of Bottle Drop/Give. It’s a simple process. Just fill our pre-labeled blue bags with refundable cans and bottles and drop them off at any of the Bottle Drop sites in Salem. Staff will count the refundables and credit our account. If you would like one or more of our blue bags to fill, send an email to info@glenngibsonwc.org. We will arrange to get bags to you. All funds received will be used to enhance and maintain healthy watershed for our area.



GIVE DONATIONS AS GIFTS TO OTHERS... OR DONATE THROUGH YOUR WILL OR TRUST

YOU CAN VOLUNTEER!

 We are local volunteers who act together so support the economy and quality of life of our communities ... along with the collaboration of interested landowners, agencies and businesses... we work to facilitate the restoration of habitat important to fish and wildlife, and to us all.

You can add to our effectiveness as a community effort through your volunteer work and we would love to have you participate.

Glenn and Gibson Creeks Watershed Council Volunteers:

  • Observe and record conditions through time for all projects
  • Work on tabling events for education and outreach
  • Pull weeds and plant natives
  • Develop, manage and maintain restoration projects
  • Represent an interest group on the GGWC
  • Represent the GGWC to their interest group and to the general public
  • Work on the newsletter

YOU CAN ALSO GET INVOLVED
by contacting your elected officials and ask them to adopt environmental legislation that protects water resources and supports land conservation and by joining and/or volunteering at your local watershed organization – like the Glenn and Gibson Creeks Watershed Council!
